Balcombe – Custom Residential Steel Framing
The Balcombe project demonstrates how light-gauge steel framing can bring complex architectural designs to life. This residential build features a detailed roof structure with intersecting trusses and a central peak, requiring absolute accuracy during manufacturing and installation.
LGS Solutions supplied prefabricated wall frames, roof trusses and bracing systems, all manufactured off-site to meet the project’s exact specifications. Delivered in stages and assembled on reinforced concrete slabs, the framing created clean lines and a stable foundation for an intricate roof design. The aerial views highlight the precision of the installation, with multiple roof planes aligning seamlessly to achieve the architect’s vision.
Internally, the framing supports wide open-plan spaces while also accommodating partition walls for multiple rooms and corridors. Steel’s inherent strength allows for larger spans and high ceilings without compromising structural integrity.
Situated near the coast, durability was a key consideration. Light gauge steel provides long-term resistance to termites, fire and corrosion, ensuring that the structure will stand strong in a demanding environment.
