Belgrave – Community Facility Steel Framing Project
Nestled in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, the Belgrave project required a structural system that could deliver strength, safety and efficiency in a bushland environment. Designed as a large single-storey complex, the building includes multiple wings with wide, open spaces suitable for community use.
LGS Solutions supplied and manufactured light-gauge steel wall frames, roof trusses and bracing systems, all prefabricated off-site for accuracy and consistency. Once delivered, the frames were assembled directly on reinforced concrete slabs, with wide-span trusses creating open-plan layouts that are ideal for classrooms, meeting halls, or other functional spaces.
The choice of steel was especially important in this location. Fire resistance, termite protection and long-term durability make steel the most reliable option for a facility expected to serve the community for decades. The system also allowed for faster installation compared to traditional methods, minimising disruption and keeping the project on track.
From the aerial views, the scale of the development is clear — a large, well-organised structure taking shape in a natural setting.
