Burwood – Medium-Density Residential Steel Framing
Located on a prominent corner site along one of Burwood’s main roads, this medium-density development required a framing system that could be installed quickly and safely in a busy suburban setting. With limited site access and the need to minimise disruption to neighbouring homes and traffic, prefabricated steel framing provided the ideal solution.
LGS Solutions supplied and manufactured light gauge steel wall frames, trusses and floor systems, all fabricated off-site to exact specifications. Delivered in staged bundles, the frames were craned into position and assembled on a reinforced concrete base. This approach ensured accuracy, reduced the need for on-site adjustments, and allowed multiple levels to progress simultaneously.
From the aerial views, the scale and complexity of the build are clear, with internal partitions forming individual residences within the larger structure. The framing provides straight, true walls and rooflines, which are essential for a high-quality finish once the cladding and interiors are complete.
By choosing steel, the development gains long-term resilience against termites, fire, and environmental wear, while also ensuring faster construction in high-traffic locations. The Burwood project reflects how LGS Solutions supports builders in delivering modern, space-efficient housing within Melbourne’s established suburbs.
