Clapham Street – Multi-Unit Residential Steel Framing
Tucked into a quiet suburban street, the Clapham Street development made efficient use of a compact block to deliver multiple two-storey townhouses. With limited site access and neighbouring homes close by, the project needed a framing solution that could be installed quickly and with minimal disruption.
LGS Solutions supplied prefabricated wall frames, trusses and bracing systems manufactured off-site to exact specifications. Delivered in staged bundles, the frames were assembled directly on the concrete slabs, creating a precise and consistent structure across all units. The aerial views show how each townhouse progressed in unison, reflecting the efficiency of prefabricated steel in medium-density housing.
Engineered roof trusses, wall openings and internal bracing were designed to maximise stability while providing flexibility for interior layouts. This accuracy ensures clean lines for external cladding and finishes, while also reducing on-site adjustments and delays.
By using light-gauge steel, the development gains long-term durability — no warping, no termite damage, and improved fire resistance. Combined with its speed of installation, steel provided the ideal system for a suburban infill site.
