Templestowe – Multi-Unit Steel Framing Project
The Templestowe project highlights how light-gauge steel framing supports efficient, high-quality multi-unit construction. Designed for a residential development with multiple adjoining dwellings, this project required a framing solution that could deliver strength, speed, and long-term durability.
Our team manufactured and supplied a complete steel framing package, including wall frames, trusses and custom curved sections to accommodate the architectural design. The frames were assembled above a reinforced concrete basement, providing a strong foundation for parking and storage. Aerial views of the site demonstrate the scale of the project and how steel framing enabled rapid progress across all dwellings simultaneously.
Key benefits of steel framing are evident throughout the build. The precision-engineered frames ensure straight walls and square corners, while integration with insulation boards and cladding systems prepares the structure for energy-efficient finishes. Unlike timber, steel won’t warp or shrink, and its natural resistance to termites, rot, and fire provides peace of mind for both builders and future residents.
This project also demonstrates how easily essential services can be incorporated during construction. Plumbing and electrical conduits were installed through the steel framework with efficiency, keeping the build on track.
